Christine Castillo is the Founder and Skating Director of the Heart Mountain Figure Skating Club, bringing over 30 years of combined figure-skating experience as a competitor and coach. A U.S. Figure Skating–certified instructor, she is passionate about developing skaters through strong technical foundations and personal growth.
Beyond the rink, Christine has an extensive background as a business consultant specializing in risk management and organizational development. She has advised Fortune 500 clients across the energy, technology, and finance sectors in both U.S. and international markets and currently holds an executive leadership position at USDN Inc., a pioneering cybersecurity firm with global reach.
Christine also serves as Executive Director of the Cody Buckle Club, a charitable organization dedicated to supporting youth rodeo and preserving Western heritage. She is the Co-Founder and General Manager of the Rocking Shamrock Ranch, where she blends equine training, cultural education, and hospitality to share her deep connection to the American West.
Lauren joined HMFSC with her family in search of a warm, supportive skating community and quickly found just that. Her daughter has flourished under the guidance of the club’s dedicated coaches and alongside a team of encouraging peers. Inspired by the camaraderie and positive spirit of the club, Lauren has also embraced her own skating journey as an adult skater.
A former professional ballet dancer, Lauren trained with Ballet San Jose, the School of Ballet San Francisco, and the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. Her classical background gives her a deep appreciation for the athleticism, artistry, and discipline of figure skating.
Outside the rink, Lauren enjoys time with her family, close friends, and horses. She has worked as a registered nurse since 2017 and currently serves in emergency and intensive care medicine.
Michael Chack is a U.S. National and International medalist whose career as a competitive skater, coach, and choreographer spans over three decades. Celebrated for his expressive musicality and technical excellence, Michael has worked with renowned choreographers and performed with professional touring shows around the world, including Stars on Ice and Champions on Ice. He is a respected coach and choreographer who mentors skaters of all levels, helping them grow as both athletes and performers. As an HMFSC Advisory Board member, Michael contributes his deep experience in program development, choreography, and performance quality—supporting the club’s commitment to excellence both in competition and in artistic expression.
Michael Darby is the owner of the historic Irma Hotel and a respected leader in tourism, business, and Western cultural preservation in Cody, Wyoming. He currently serves as President of the Cody Buckle Club, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting youth rodeo in Cody and the Big Horn Basin, and as Past Chairperson of the Park County Travel Council, where he helped guide strategic promotion of the region through Cody Yellowstone.
Michael has also played a key leadership role on the Cody Stampede Board, helping to shape one of the West’s most celebrated rodeo events. His long-standing involvement in heritage tourism, large-scale event planning, and youth-focused charitable initiatives brings a valuable perspective to the Heart Mountain Figure Skating Club Advisory Board. Michael’s support strengthens HMFSC’s connection to the Cody community and its shared mission of empowering young people through sport, culture, and tradition.
Beata Handra is a 2002 Olympian and four-time U.S. National pewter medalist in Ice Dance, representing Team USA with partner Charles Sinek. Following her competitive career, Beata became a dedicated coach and choreographer, with a particular passion for ice theatre. She is actively involved in theatrical skating productions and brings a unique creative lens to show design, character development, and performance storytelling on ice. As a member of the HMFSC Advisory Board, Beata offers invaluable guidance in choreography, artistic programming, and ice show production—helping the club create enriching, performance-based opportunities that inspire both skaters and the broader community.
Anita Hartshorn is a three-time U.S. Figure Skating gold medalist and a USFS Master-rated coach with international credentials. A former World Professional Pair Champion, she has starred in elite tours and television specials including Gershwin on Ice, Art on Ice, and the Winter Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies. With a background in dance and a career spanning performances in over a dozen countries, Anita brings a rich blend of artistry, technical expertise, and showmanship to her coaching. She also serves as Casting Director for Glacier Ice Shows and has presented at U.S. Figure Skating elite camps and PSA National Conventions.
Frank Sweiding is a World Professional Pair Champion, three-time U.S. Figure Skating gold medalist, and ISU gold medalist. With a teaching degree from Northeastern Illinois University, he is a USFS Master-rated and internationally recognized coach. Frank has performed globally in major productions such as Champions on Ice, Stars on Ice Europe, and Magic on Ice, and has appeared in numerous TV specials and international shows. He is the President of Glacier Ice Shows and a sought-after seminar leader, having coached and presented across the U.S., Mexico, Europe, and Asia.
John Temte is a technology entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist focused on rural innovation and economic growth. He is the General Partner of WYO VC and Chairman of Temte Capital, where he invests in and advises early-stage companies with a focus on impactful, forward-thinking ventures. John co-founded the Jackson Hole Technology Partnership with former Wyoming Governor Matt Mead and leads the Wyoming Global Technology Summit, a flagship event that brings together entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers to explore the intersection of technology, community, and opportunity.
A member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe, John serves on numerous public and nonprofit boards and maintains deep ties to Wyoming. His commitment to fostering leadership and opportunity in underserved and rural communities informs all of his work.
As a founding supporter of the Heart Mountain Figure Skating Club, John brings a strategic perspective and heartfelt generosity to the Advisory Board. His guidance is rooted in a belief that access to high-quality programs in athletics, arts, and education can transform communities, ensuring that HMFSC continues to thrive as a space where young people can grow, achieve, and belong.
